Technical Advisor, Renewable Energy
Ben is a chartered electrical engineer with eleven years of experience in electricity transmission, distribution and renewable generation.
He worked as a project manager for a major UK electricity distribution utility before spending eight years at for a multinational industrial manufacturer in roles focused first on project management, then on business development and strategy. In addition to delivering large infrastructure work packages he has led innovation projects for onshore and offshore wind farms, developed organisational strategic plans, and developed and enacted government engagement plans relating to renewable energy, energy storage, and wind generation.
Most recently, Ben established a Geneva-based consultancy, Bowler Engineering, which is focused on providing energy expertise relating rural, off-grid electrification in countries that lack access to reliable energy.
He grew up in Southern Africa and has lived and worked in a number of European countries. He has a master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
