Partner, Advisor – Conservation finance
Ricardo is an environmental economist, with expertise in conservation, management and finance. His areas of specific expertise include:
- social investment;
- finance conservation;
- climate change.
Prior to joining Altus Impact, Ricardo held a number of diverse positions, including coordinator of a NGO in Brazil, project finance manager at a carbon asset manager company in Zurich and management consultant on merger and acquisition deals.
Ricardo has over 10 years of experience, with leadership roles on projects including:
- strategy development to foster non-timber forest products in the Amazon;
- carbon footprint, climate risk assessment and sustainable procurement for the Olympic athletes’ village and Olympic park for the Rio 2016 games;
- definition of strategy, due diligence and pipeline management processes for a social investment instrument of Itaú, a major Brazilian bank;
- conceptualisation of the Peruaçu Fund aiming to support Peruaçu National Park management.
Ricardo has a Master’s degree in environmental economics from Bocconi University in Italy and a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from Mauá Technology Institute in Brazil.
